Blue Ox Scandinavian Retreat, Cozy 2BD, 1 Mile to Mayo
Welcome to the Blue Ox Scandinavian Retreat, located near the heart of Rochester. With its
simple aesthetics, cozy and stylish setting, this home is the perfect escape after a long day of
work. This home is the middle unit of the Blue Ox Triplex, so you may have neighbors above
and below you.
The Blue Ox Scandinavian Retreat is designed with the busy traveler in mind. From the moment
you step inside, you’ll be at ease in the cozy and relaxing home. Our living area is light-filled and
spacious, featuring a large sofa and 50” smart TV.
Our kitchen has everything you need to prepare a delicious meal. The kitchen also has a
dishwasher for quick clean-up and a small dining area with seating for four.
The two bedrooms each have a cozy queen-size bed, quality bedding, a sound machine and
blackout blinds ensuring you have a comfortable rest, no matter what time of day you sleep.
The bathroom is well-appointed with towels, toiletries, and a hairdryer. You may need to restock
toiletries if you are staying longer than a week.
Location: The front of the triplex looks out to the Mayo Clinic and downtown Rochester. The
Mayo Clinic is NW of this apartment by exactly a mile. Weather permitting it’s a quick, safe
walk to Mayo Clinic, Mayo Civic Center, Soldiers Field Park, People's Food Co-op grocery store
and all the restaurants downtown. The Olmsted Medical Center's parking lot is steps away from
the front door. Saint Mary’s employee shuttle lot is very close (mayo employee badge needed).
Things to note:
This is the middle unit of a TRIPLEX, so there may be neighbors and noise above and below you.
Each unit is separate, with its own entrance.
Each bedroom has a sound machine and blackout curtains to make the stay as comfortable as possible.
The entire triplex is run by one heating/cooling system, because of this guest are not able to change the temperature on the thermostat. In the winter the house is set between 70-72 degrees. In the summer it is set between 68-70 degrees. The unit is equipped with a space heater and fans, to help make the space as comfortable as possible. We can also change the temperature remotely if needed.
Parking: There is one designated parking space in the front of the unit. There is plenty of street parking outside of the unit. We have garage space available, but I only recommend that if you plan to park there long term vs daily use, as the garage is not that easy to get in/out of.
There is no cable tv. The Smart TV requires you to use your own account.
There is NO washer/dryer in this unit, but my cleaner offers weekly pick-up/drop-off laundry service, and there is a laundry mat a mile from the house.
